So I dont even know where to Start. WE did have a Baptism this week and that we so fun!!!! Luis has a friend that baptized him and that was so cool. However it was super interesting. we had gone and started to fill the fonte and for some reason it only filled to one point so the water wasnt all the way full and then Luis, since he was in a car accident some years ago is missing his right leg below the knee so that was really interesting. at the baptism I had been asked to talk so I gave a talk and man that was so scarry in portuguese and every thing. man but I am alive and Luis is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. wow this is so cool. Elder fry took some pic so I hope i will get thoes and be able to send you some but we will see.
By the way Transfers came and SUPRISE Elder Fry is leaving and going to the island maderia and I am Staying here with Elder Lee. Elder lee is from Pocotello idaho and all of the sudden I have to lead him around and every thing I am a little scared cause we had a division the other night and i was with Elder harvey and i felt very unprepared but I will let you know how that is going here next week. but yea E. lee is a super happy elder and always laughing i am super excited to see what happens in the next few weeks. that will for sure be intersting
any way we had 2 divisions this week the first was with êlder wertz both of us being greenies and man that was interesting we found 9 people taht day but on average they had been finding 7 or 8 so that was alright. but we had one guy that we thought was so prepared he was kind of on his own with religion he recignized that the catholic church wasnt true and he felt like he has been guided but god in his life (he spoke all of this in english) and so we testified of how the gosple could help his life and all of thoes thingsthen I tried like crazy to give him a book of mormon but he didnt want one so we had to be satisfied with just the cards we left with the website and the address of the church and our number. that was kind of disappointing but it worked oh well hope he comes around and one day joins the church but we will see.
taht was our adventures there but we had a better one with elder harvey we were tracting in sao mamede and it was myturn so we started to go up a street and we both saw a man coming toward us and we both felt like he would be awesome so we approached and I contacted him and then turned to e harvey after a min and then e harvey said yea E bishop is still learning portugues then the guy started to talk to us in engish so i was able to under stand him and he said that he had experimented with religion in his life read some books that sort of thing. so i was thinking yea he is going to be golden then as we progressed this guy realized who we were and every thing and he said he didnt believe in god and then who he was came out. . . he was a Korihor. he didnt have any beliefe in god he didnt want god or any thing he had no purpose in his life and every thing we said to him he totally denied. I only remember one thing he asked, that was where is god how do you know that he exsists and when he said that I said God Is with us and he is watching out for us every day in all that we do he tries to help us. that totally shut up any comments that he had but after we almost literally ran away from him we said a prayer to try to get the spirit back that was so scary and crazy I was so glad that Elder harvey had had experience with that sort of thing before. but that means I will probably have something like that happen to me again we will see.
